
Learning Through Nature
The Learning Through Nature initiative is an educational program aimed at integrating nature-based learning into personality development for students. Developed by Sri Madhusudan Damle Ji, this module provides an insightful approach to character building, emotional intelligence, and environmental consciousness.
Through interactive workshops, book launches, and training programs, Learning Through Nature has been introduced in various schools and institutions, impacting students, teachers, and educational professionals alike. The initiative has been widely recognized and continues to inspire young minds to connect with nature for holistic learning.
Book Launch & Workshop at Vidyaniketan School
On 8th Feb 2023, Midam Trust launched the book "Learning Through Nature" - A Manual for Champion Students by Sri Madhusudan Damle Ji at Vidyaniketan School as part of the Pondicherry Heritage Festival organized by INTACH Pondicherry.
Sri Madhusudan Damle Ji, the Chief Guest, highlighted the significance of launching the Learning Through Nature module in the same school where Krishna’s Butter Project started in 2015. Principal Padma Rani warmly welcomed the initiative, and Mrs. Sithara Nair Gerdes, a social entrepreneur and environmentalist, emphasized the importance of reviving Pondicherry’s heritage. Dr. Bhawana Badhe shed light on the module’s role in personality development for children.








Book Launch & Workshop at Primrose School
As part of their commitment to holistic education, Primrose School integrated Learning Through Nature workshops into their regular value lessons for the academic year 2023-24. Principal Gayatri Mam warmly welcomed the initiative, emphasizing the importance of experiential learning in shaping young minds. Head Teacher Coordinator Sunitha Mam elaborated on how the module fosters essential life skills and character development in students. The sessions, conducted by Mrs. Chitra Nayak Ji and Ms. Avanti Badhe, were highly interactive, encouraging students to explore their connection with nature while enhancing their emotional intelligence and personal growth.
Workshops at Presidency Elite School, Pondicherry
Presidency Elite School incorporated Learning Through Nature as part of their value education curriculum for students from 3rd to 9th grade, purchasing 270 copies of the book. Throughout the 2023-24 academic year, Dr. Bhawana, Chitra Ji, Kavitha Ji, and Avanti Ji conducted chapter-wise workshops, engaging students in meaningful discussions.
Key supporters included Mr. K.P. Christiraj (Correspondent), Mrs. M. Jayanthirani (Principal), and Vice Principal Mr. Joseph John Paul. Mini LTN booklets and pens were distributed to students, and a research study on the children's emotional intelligence during the workshops is ongoing.








Book Launch & Workshop at St.Patrick School
On February 11, 2023, Midam Charitable hosted a Personality Development Workshop, "Learning Through Nature – A Manual for Champion Students," during the Pondicherry Heritage Festival 2023. Held at St. Patrick's Matriculation Higher Secondary School, Puducherry, the event included a book launch and an interactive session for students.
Dignitaries present included Mr. Kalamegam (Environmental Engineer, Dept. of Science, Technology & Environment, GOI), Ms. Gayatri Majumdar (Journalist & Author), Dr. Bhawana Badhe (JIPMER), Mrs. Chitra Nayak (Karnataka State Coordinator, Midam), Ms. Avanti Badhe (Trustee), Mrs. Alphonse Hilda (Principal, St. Patrick’s), Mr. Alex, and Mr. Filix.
The workshop emphasized personality development through nature-based learning, inspiring students to grow and explore.

Book Launch and workshop for Immaculate College for Women
On March 3, 2023, Midam Trust launched the book "Learning Through Nature" by Sri Madhusudan Raghunath Damle and conducted a one-day Personality Development Workshop for B.Ed. students at Immaculate College for Women, Puducherry.

The event was graced by Chief Guest Dr. Bhawana Badhe, Senior Professor of Pathology and Midam Trustee, along with Principal Dr. Sr. Philomin Mary.

Mrs. Chitra Nayak, Teacher Trainer at Midam Trust, led an engaging and interactive session alongside Ms. Avanti Badhe, offering students valuable insights into personality development through nature-based learning.

Felicitation of Mr. Madhusudan Damle by Hon’ble Governor Mrs.Tamilisai Soundararajan
Sri Madhusudan Damle Ji was honored by the Hon’ble Governor Mrs. Tamilisai Soundararajan for his contributions to education. Trustee Ms. Avanti Badhe presented the Learning Through Nature book to the Governor.



LTN Workshop for MRF Employees’ Children
Midam was invited by MRF’s Puducherry Plant to conduct the Learning Through Nature workshop, inspired by Sri Madhusudan Damleji's book, for the employees' children as part of their Family Welfare Program.The two-day workshop was conducted by Miss Avanti Badhe, Trustee and Teacher Trainer at Midam Charitable Trust, in both English and Tamil. Around 70 students participated, engaging enthusiastically in the sessions.The event was organized by Mr. Benett, HR Manager, MRF, and Bhanumati Madam, MSW, Family Welfare Coordinator, MRF. Mrs. B. Kavitha played a crucial role in bringing this initiative to life.The children actively participated, making the sessions lively and engaging. They left with a valuable message—understanding the nature within themselves and fostering a deeper connection with the natural world around them.




LTN Workshop for the Admin Wing of Tagore Arts College
Sri Madhusudan Damleji, our founder and a passionate nature lover, visited Dr. Sasikanta Dash, Principal of Tagore Arts College, Pondicherry, during the Learning Through Nature workshop for office staff. Warmly welcomed by the Principal, they engaged in an insightful discussion on nation-building. Sri Damleji also interacted with the administrative staff, recognizing their vital role in the institution.Dr. Dash, dedicated to environmental sustainability, has led numerous green initiatives to expand campus greenery and promote reforestation. His efforts reflect the Learning Through Nature philosophy in action.On September 8, 2023, Miss Avanti Badhe successfully concluded the 2.5-month Learning Through Nature workshop (July–September) for the college’s administrative wing. To mark the occasion, Dr. Dash presented her with a memento, while SP Sir Darmalingam thoughtfully selected a photo of Sri Damleji with Avantiji and gifted a symbolic pot representing peace and love for nature.
